Emergency Bridge Housing – For Transitional Age Youth
Emergency Bridge Housing at the Grove opened on June 10, 2020 and includes 24 double-occupancy sleeping cabins for homeless youth aged 18-24 years of age. SHRA oversees the operations of the shelter while First Step Communities manages the daily operations at the site. They also engage with the youth and coordinate robust wrap-around services to assist the youth in moving into permanent stable housing.
Referrals into Emergency Bridge Housing can be accessed at the TAY Access Point or with participating youth agencies. The TAY Access Point can be found at 815 S Street, Sacramento CA, 95811. To be eligible, a person must be 18-24 years old and experiencing homelessness. A person must present physically and complete an assessment prior to a referral being made. Space is limited and completion of an assessment does not guarantee admittance. Enrollments are accepted on a rolling basis. Additional eligibility criteria may apply. For additional information about the TAY Access Point, please go to www.windyouth.org.
