SHRA utilizes a variety of funding sources and programs for the construction and renovation of affordable single family homes. As a result, there are periodically opportunities for eligible buyers to purchase affordable single family homes. These homes may be located in new subdivisions or in existing neighborhoods. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements and be able to qualify for first mortgage financing to purchase these homes. In addition, most of these homes require restrictions on the resale of the home, so buyers are advised to fully understand these restrictions. Listed below are the affordable housing ordinance homes currently for sale in the City and County through this program.

Homes available for purchase under the Welcome Home Program are owned by SHRA and are fully renovated prior to sale. Homes range in size from two to five bedrooms and are located throughout the City and County of Sacramento. Renovations include new appliances and amenities such as dishwashers, washer/dryer hook-ups, new interior and exterior paint, windows, floor covering, fixtures, and heating/air conditioning systems.
Homes are sold to eligible low income households in the City and County of Sacramento. Down payment assistance is available for those households that qualify, and residents in SHRA’s rental assistance programs may also qualify to purchase a home.
A total of 76 homes will be renovated for sale in target areas of the City and County, including the Sacramento Promise Zone.
