Welcome Home Program

The Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA) has created the Welcome Home Program to provide homeownership opportunities for eligible low income households in the City and County of Sacramento.  For residents who are thinking of buying their first home, this program may be a perfect opportunity to achieve the American dream of homeownership. Down payment assistance is available for those households that qualify, and residents in SHRA's rental assistance programs may also qualify to purchase a home.

The homes that will be available for purchase under the Welcome Home Program are owned by SHRA and are being fully renovated or scheduled for renovation. The homes consist of two, three, four and five bedrooms and are located throughout the City and County of Sacramento.  The renovations include new appliances and amenities such as dishwashers, washer/dryer hook-ups, new interior and exterior paint, windows, floor covering, fixtures, and heating/air conditioning systems.  The renovations will be completed before the homes are offered for sale.

A total of 76 homes will be renovated for sale in target areas of the City and County, including the Sacramento Promise Zone. Several homes have already been completed and are on the market for sale.
